Exceeding expectations

By comparison to previous holiday properties which did not always live up-to the description/photographs Heath Lodge could not be more different ..it not only lived up-to expectations it far exceeded them.

What a house! Where to start? The amazing views, the stunning light, airy comfortable interior, the superb cleanliness, the welcome goodies.....

A magical holiday, and I cannot imagine this house being surpassed. We would love to return in the future.

Best of Brixham!

As every other reviewer has stated Heath lodge is an amazing house to stay in. It's extremely comfortable and immaculately clean. With the best views in Brixham.

But better than all that is living next door to John & Tricia for a week! Tricia made us all feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble and we always loved seeing John and hearing his story's! Very entertaining! They really made our holiday.

We wouldn't stay anywhere else in brixham now we have found this place. Hopefully if they have us back we would love to stay here again.

You'll never beat this!!!

We have just arrived back from the most wonderful two week holiday in this FANTASTIC home. You truly won't beat this! The views are stunning from all rooms except the second bedroom. There is nothing left to chance, light, airy + spotlessly clean and fresh.

We were unfortunate with the weather on our first week but we were so warm and cosy that we were more than happy to stay in and watch the boats coming and going.

John & Patricia were so welcoming and we were treated as friends from the day we arrived.

This is by far the very best holiday home we have ever been to and we will return.

Our stay at Heath Lodge Brixham

What can we say. What a splendid home, and in a marvellous location with stunning views. Patricia and John providing the perfect welcome on arrival, along with some additional little extras by means of flowers and essential provisions. The lodge was immaculate, and is a credit to them both. A perfect retreat for a welcomed break. The views just cannot be described. There was everything within the lodge that is required to make your stay complete. The car parking is a bonus. It is just a five minute walk down into the picturesque harbour town, where there are plenty of Bars and recommended restaurants. The ferry trip across to Torquay is well worth undertaking and as such you do not need to use the car. Heath Lodge is ideally situated for visiting other locations, and once again, we thank John and Patricia for sharing their local knowledge on places to visit. Nothing would appear too much trouble for these two polite and generous hosts. A truly peaceful location for a holiday. Heath Lodge is definitely a place we will revisit. Thank you John and Patricia.

Fabulous House/Retreat

Thank you John & Patricia for a fabulous holiday, your holiday home was perfect. Peaceful, yet only a short distance from the busy harbour. A fabulous place to stay!

It is not possible to arrive at Heath Lodge without feeling amazed and delighted with not only the fabulous views but also with the very high standards of Heath Lodge. We returned for a second stay this summer having had a great two weeks in late September last year. The house is presented beautifully and Patricia has thought of everything that you could want and she and John are so warm and friendly that we were looking forward to seeing them again as much as staying at the house. We have done loads of exploring and love the area and will certainly return next year if we can.

Fantastic holiday

We had a fantastic holiday at the "Heath Lodge" in Brixham. The location of the house is perfect. Sitting on the couch you can see down to the harbour of Brixham. A first class view! The equipment of the house was absolutely comfortable and completely. Everything was very, very clean. We felt very well! The owners of the house are very helpful and lovely people. We enjoyed it very much to stay there with them. Brixham is an nice place to relax. We did a lot of trips in this area. We are sure to come back again.

The Perfect Holiday Home

It's generally accepted to take comments such as magical, awe inspiring, phenomenal etc.. with a pinch of salt. I mean, how can anywhere really draw on such high acclaim? Well, Heath Lodge does in fact! No doubt, you've already seen the photos of this beautiful residence on the website - they just cannot do it justice. It was so clean and bright with an exceptionally high standard throughout the entire property. And then there's the breath-taking views from the dining area and sitting room. All I can say is you really need to see them through your own eyes to fully appreciate the full impact of such a spectacular vista!

Heath Lodge will provide guests with a great holiday on its own merits, and I could quite happily leave it there for the purpose of this review. It turns out however, that your holiday home is owned by two of the most lovely, kind, thoughtful and hospitable people my family have ever met, Patricia and John.

With their extensive knowledge of Brixham and the surrounding districts it would have been churlish not to ask their advice on where to visit and eat and how best to get there. We were met by a very warm and welcoming Patricia on our arrival and having given us a brief overview of where everything was, we were left to our own devices to settle in. Patricia had very kindly prepared some complimentary provisions ahead of time to settle us in and make us feel welcome. There were even a couple of unexpected treats that Patricia thought we might like that went down very well indeed.

The attention to detail by your hosts is what makes your stay a magical stay! Fresh roses on the dining room table, a large selection of bath cremes and bubble baths. The beautiful decor throughout the property and the thorough cleanliness throughout.

We had a little difficulty booking up when we looked at the availability of Heath Lodge, and now, post holiday I can see why.

Fantastic Week

After a wonderful stay at Heath Lodge, I must write a review. It's just beautiful, with spectacular views of Torbay, from the huge windows, I miss the early morning fishing boats returning to the harbour, after a night's work. Spotlessly clean, fully equipped and a most comfortable bed with lovely bed linen, slept well every night. Also we had plenty of thick towels.

The owners Pat and John are lovely people, who couldn't do enough for us. It was our first time staying there but it won't be our last.

Very good location not far from the town which we walked to every day. Lots of interesting shops with a fish market too. You can also buy fish to take home, they box it up for you, with ice in a sealed container. We did that on our last morning, delicious. Within walking distance of restaurants and bars at the harbour and breakwater. Lots of places to visit. We went to Powderham Castle, Dartmouth, Blackpool Sands and Compton Castle all within easy reach.

Heath Lodge, Brixham - a perfect getaway

We were looking for a base to visit old haunts from, and kept coming back to this property – and the Property description is completely accurate. The website photos can’t do it full justice – you have to see it for yourself to appreciate it!

The owners Patricia and John made us very welcome and were attentive without being obtrusive during our stay, giving us tips on where to visit and shop using their local knowledge. The accommodation itself was spotless and fully equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our week’s stay.

The views over the busy harbour provide a constant source of interest and while you are in a quiet area of the town, you’re still within easy walking distance of the restaurants and bars which flank the marina, and Berry Head and the WW2 Battery.

Relatively short drives can get you to Paignton Zoo (huge – considering the size of the town), Castle Drogo on the edge of Dartmoor (currently under restoration but still worth visiting) Dartmouth for a river cruise to learn about the area and the Cleave Inn at Lustleigh – great food and try the Otter Ales!

Would we stay at Heath Lodge again?

Absolutely!

Perfect accommodation and location

Heath Lodge is a beautiful house and the views from the rooms are spectacular! Lots of lovely places to visit nearby with plenty of boat trips so you don't have to drive everywhere. Only a few minutes walk from the town and sea. Recommend a holiday in this lovely place, and hope to revisit soon.
